Support

FoodBook is built by a small team. If something is broken, unclear, or plain wrong, write to us — a person reads every message, and the answers below cover what most people ask.

Contact us

Email support@food-book.app. We usually reply within two working days.

To get a useful answer first time, tell us:

  • the email address on your account;
  • your phone and its OS version (iOS or Android);
  • the app version — it’s at the bottom of Settings;
  • a screenshot, if you have one.

You can also write to us from inside the app: Settings → Contact Us.

Account and sign-in

My verification email never arrived.
Check the spam folder first. The verification screen has a Resend Verification Email button — use it after a minute or two. If the address on the account is wrong, email us and we’ll correct it.
I've forgotten my password.
On the sign-in screen tap Forgot password? and we’ll email you a reset link. The link works once and expires after 30 minutes; request a new one if it lapses.
I signed in with Google or Apple, so I have no password.
That’s expected — social sign-in doesn’t create one. If you’d like a password as well, open Edit profile and choose Set password. Your Google or Apple sign-in keeps working either way.
How do I change my name, photo or details?
Profile tab → Edit profile.

Reviews, photos and video

How do I edit or delete a review I posted?
Open the review and use the three-dot menu. Edits keep a version history, so the record of what changed stays intact.
My review disappeared.
Reviews, photos and video are screened automatically, and anything flagged goes to a human moderator. If yours was removed and you think that’s wrong, email us with the restaurant name and roughly when you posted. If the decision is overturned the review comes back, and so do the points it earned.
How do I report a review, comment or photo?
Tap the three-dot menu on the item and choose Report, then pick a reason. Reports go to a moderator who looks at the content itself.
Someone posted something about me or my venue that shouldn't be there.
Report it in the app, and email us as well if it’s urgent — those go to the front of the queue. Tell us the restaurant, the reviewer, and what the problem is.

Restaurants, deals and your wallet

A restaurant is missing.
Search for it — when nothing comes back, the empty result offers Add a missing Restaurant. A moderator checks new venues before they go live.
The hours, address or amenities are wrong.
Open the restaurant, tap the three-dot menu and choose Suggest Edit. It goes to a moderator, and an approved edit earns you points.
How do the bank card deals work?
Add the cards you hold in Settings → Wallet. Deals that work with one of your cards are marked and sorted first. We only ever ask which card product you hold — never a card number, and never your banking details.
A deal is out of date.
Email us the restaurant and the deal. Banks change offers without notice; we refresh them nightly and fix the rest by hand.
I own this restaurant.
Write to us from an address on the venue’s domain, or with something that shows you run it, and we’ll take you through claiming the page.

Notifications, points and levels

I'm getting too many notifications.
Settings → Push notifications has one master switch plus a toggle for each type, so you can keep the ones you want.
How do points and levels work?
Reviews with real detail and photos earn the most; upvotes from other people count too. Tap your level on your profile to see the whole ladder and where you sit on it. Levels only go up — a recalibration can lengthen the road ahead, never take a level back.

Privacy and your data

How do I delete my account?
Settings → Close Account. It is irreversible; the full steps and what happens afterwards are on the Data Deletion page.
What do you collect, and who sees it?
The Privacy Policy sets out what we collect, how it is used, and your rights over it.

Still stuck?

Send us the details and we’ll take it from there — support@food-book.app.
