Terms of Service
Last Updated: 07/28/2026
These Terms of Service are the agreement between you and FoodBook. They cover the FoodBook app and website, what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you. By creating an account or using FoodBook, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use FoodBook.
1. Who We Are
FoodBook is a community platform for finding and reviewing places to eat. People write reviews, rate venues across several categories, add photos and video, and share what a meal actually cost. Restaurants and branches are listed from a combination of community contributions and data we import; deals and discounts are supplied by third parties.
These Terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect and how we handle it. Reading both gives you the full picture.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create a FoodBook account or use our services. By signing up, you confirm that you meet this requirement. FoodBook is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information — if we learn that we have, we delete it, as described in our Privacy Policy.
If the law where you live sets a higher minimum age for using a service like ours without a parent or guardian's consent, that higher age applies to you.
You also confirm that you are not barred from using FoodBook under any applicable law, and that any account we have previously closed for a breach of these Terms is not being replaced by a new one.
3. Your Account
You can create an account with an email address and password, or by signing in with Google or Apple. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity that happens under your account.
- Accurate details: Give us information that is true, and keep it current. Do not impersonate anyone or misrepresent who you are.
- One person, one account: Accounts are personal. Do not share yours, sell it, or transfer it to someone else.
- Tell us about a problem: If you think someone else has got into your account, contact us at support@food-book.app.
4. Your Content
Reviews, ratings, photos, video, comments, lists, venue suggestions and anything else you post are yours. You keep ownership of your content, and nothing here transfers it to us.
So that FoodBook can actually work, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for example, resizing an image or generating a thumbnail), publish and display your content in the app, on our website, and in link previews when a page you posted is shared. This licence lasts while your content is on FoodBook and for a reasonable period afterwards to allow for backups and cached copies to clear.
You confirm that you have the right to post what you post — that the photos and video are yours to share, and that your content does not infringe anyone else's rights.
Your reviews are public by design. Treat anything you post as something other people will read, quote and share.
5. Rules of Conduct
A review site is only worth reading if the reviews are honest. These rules exist to keep it that way.
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on FoodBook. Content that is obscene, sexually explicit, hateful, threatening, harassing or otherwise objectionable is not allowed, and neither is abusive behaviour towards other members. We remove objectionable content and we suspend or close the accounts of people who post it or who behave abusively.
- Write from experience: Review places you have actually been. Do not post fake reviews, and do not write or buy reviews on behalf of a venue, whether to promote it or to damage a competitor.
- No incentivised reviews: Do not accept payment, free meals or other benefits in exchange for a review or a rating.
- Keep it lawful and civil: No harassment, threats, hate speech, or content targeting someone because of who they are.
- No sexual or graphic content: Do not upload sexual, explicit or gratuitously violent photos or video.
- Respect privacy: Do not post other people's personal information, and do not upload photos of people who have not agreed to appear.
- No spam or manipulation: Do not post advertising, run bots, scrape the service, create accounts in bulk, or try to game ratings, votes, reviewer levels or points.
- Do not break the service: No attempts to breach security, probe for weaknesses, overload our systems, or access parts of FoodBook you have not been given access to.
6. Moderation and Removal
We may review, remove or restrict content that breaches these Terms. Some screening is automated — text, photos and video may be checked by automated systems, and content flagged as unsafe can be taken down before a person has looked at it. A moderator reviews those decisions.
Anyone can report a review, comment, photo, video or account that they think breaks the rules, from within the app. We aim to review every report within 24 hours and to remove objectionable content and the accounts responsible for it. Reporting something does not guarantee it will be removed; it means a moderator will look.
You can also block any account. Blocking takes effect immediately: that person's reviews and comments stop appearing for you across FoodBook. You can see and undo your blocks at any time in Settings, under Blocked accounts.
We do not have to remove a review just because a venue disagrees with it. An honest account of a real visit is allowed to be negative. We will remove content that is false, that breaks the rules above, or that we are legally required to take down.
If your content is removed, we may also reverse any points it earned. Repeated or serious breaches can lead to your account being suspended or closed.
7. Reviewer Levels and Points
Contributing to FoodBook earns points, and points move you up the reviewer ladder. Points and levels recognise contribution within FoodBook and nothing more.
- No cash value: Points and levels cannot be exchanged for money, sold, or transferred to another account.
- We may adjust them: We can change how points are earned, correct mistakes, and reverse points earned by content that is removed or found to be fake.
- Perks can change: Any benefit attached to a level may change or end, and levels themselves may be renamed or restructured.
8. Deals, Offers and Cards
FoodBook shows discounts and offers connected to banks, cards and other providers. We do not issue these offers and we are not party to them — they belong to the bank, card issuer or venue that runs them, and their terms apply.
Offers change, run out, and are sometimes withdrawn without notice. We work to keep them current but we cannot guarantee that an offer shown in the app will be honoured at the till. Please check the details with the venue or your card issuer before you rely on one.
Adding a card to your wallet in FoodBook records which card products you hold so we can show relevant offers. It does not give us your card number and it does not connect us to your bank account.
9. Venue Information
Details about restaurants — addresses, opening hours, menus, prices, amenities — come from a mix of community suggestions, imported data and venue owners. Things change, and some of what you see will be out of date or wrong.
Please treat venue information as a guide rather than a guarantee, and check anything that matters (a dietary requirement, an opening time, a price) with the venue directly. If you spot something wrong, suggesting a correction genuinely helps.
Ratings and aggregate scores reflect what our community has reported. They are opinions, not statements of fact about a business.
10. If You Own or Represent a Venue
You can claim a venue you own or are authorised to represent. By claiming it, you confirm you have that authority.
Claiming a venue lets you keep its information accurate. It does not give you control over the reviews written about it, the right to remove criticism, or the ability to review your own venue or a competitor's.
11. Ending Your Account
You can close your account at any time from Settings in the app. You can also request deletion of your data at https://www.food-book.app/data-deletion/, which explains what is removed and what we keep.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, that is used to abuse or endanger other people, or where we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.
Closing your account does not automatically erase every trace of your activity — some content may remain where it has been quoted or aggregated, and we keep what we must for legal, security and fraud-prevention reasons. Our Privacy Policy has the detail.
12. Disclaimers
FoodBook is provided as it is. We do not promise that the service will always be available, uninterrupted, or free of errors, and we do not promise that the information in it is complete or accurate.
We are not responsible for the food, service, safety or conduct of any venue listed on FoodBook, and we do not endorse them. Deciding where to eat, and what to eat, is yours.
Reviews and ratings are the views of the people who wrote them, not ours.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FoodBook is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or data, or for anything arising out of your use of the service, content posted by other people, or your dealings with a venue or offer provider.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as FoodBook changes. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page, and we will give you notice in the app or by email if the change is significant. Continuing to use FoodBook after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the courts of Pakistan have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you use FoodBook from somewhere else, you are responsible for complying with your own local law.
16. Contact Us
